what lights you up?
What makes your heart beat faster? What energizes you? When do you lose track of time? What could you talk about for hours?
These questions matter. But asking them isn’t enough. In a world saturated with noise, the real practice is learning how to sit still long enough to hear the answers. And that part? It’s hard. Distraction is everywhere, and quiet doesn’t come easily.
I’m good at sensing what lights me up. Where I’m still practicing—practice, not perfection—is creating the conditions to actually listen. So I’m simplifying. Less scrolling. More stillness. Less constant input. More space to breathe. Less busyness. More presence. Nothing extreme. Nothing aspirationally impossible. Just small, doable steps that I know I can return to. The kind that build trust instead of resistance.
Because what I’ve learned is this: when I create quiet, clarity follows. In the still space, answers rise that were always there—but easy to miss when everything is loud. And the more often I return to that place, the more connected I feel to what truly energizes me.
That’s the path for me. Listening. Simplifying. Staying close to what lights me up.
That’s how I stay lit.
